as been an almost total media blackout about human rights abuses to Haiti. Now a report has come out of the University of Miami that is very in depth at exposing the situation there, and in turn, exposing the failures of the media. Please write a letter to any and/or all media outlets that is like the following. (Your work will be better if you read the University of Miami Report). Most outlets want letters to be published to remain between 150-300 words, but the effect of these letters is not just to publish them but to make it an issue with the editorial board.

Dear media outlet,
I have been very disappointed in the lack of reporting on the Human Rights Crisis in Haiti. Recent research out of the University of Miami has brought to light systematic abuses of power and summary executions which have not been reported on. It also suggests through interviews with multiple parties in Haiti itself that some issues that were reported were fabricated or misrepresented, such as the so-called Operation Baghdad.
I understand that the outlet may be largely dependent on the AP for news out of Haiti, but it seems obvious that these contacts have failed to properly investigate and report the news. However, there is now evidence including photos available out of the University of Miami that the outlet has now failed to investigate and report on.
It is dire for news and information to flow freely out of trouble spots and war-zones so that appropriate policy and reactions can be based on an informed debate. The major news organizations have failed Haiti in that regard, and the Haitian people are suffering because of it.
